Guidelines for Shipping Using EMS

To send items using EMS you will need:

i) A valid Government issued ID Card (Voters’ ID or Drivers’ Licence or Passport)

ii) TRN

iii) Full name, address, telephone number and/or email address of both the sender and addressee

iv) Do not seal your package or envelope as it will need to be checked at the counter

FASTTRACK is a guaranteed, quick and easy way to send your documents to countries in Asia, Western Europe, Africa, Latin America and most of the Caribbean. This service will offer customers a guaranteed delivery from Jamaica to the destination countries. It is cost effective and you can easily track your mail items.

Guidelines for Shipping Using Fasttrack:

To send items using Fasttrack you will need:

i) A valid Government issued ID Card (Voters’ ID or Drivers’ Licence or Passport)

ii) TRN

iii) Name, address, telephone number and/or email address of both the sender and addressee

iv) Do not seal your package or envelope as it will need to be checked at the counter

International Registered Mail
Register your important documents and benefit from online tracking, customer service assistance, added protection and limited indemnity in the unlikely event of loss or damage.

It takes 7 to 14 business days for arrival in the destination country.

Guidelines to send Registered Mail Overseas

You will need to have:

i) A valid Government issued ID Card (Voters’ ID or Drivers’ Licence or Passport)

ii) TRN

iii) Registered Slip (Notice) sent by the Post Office

To receive registered mail from overseas you will need to provide:

i) A valid Government issued ID Card (Voters’ ID or Drivers’ Licence or Passport)

If you are sending someone to collect your item on your behalf they will need to provide:

i) An authorization letter from you, signed by you

ii) A copy of your valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License)

iii) A valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License) of the person collecting on your behalf

Parcels

Choose from two options to send your parcels overseas.

1. Ordinary by Air is treated as priority and takes approximately 14 business days to reach the destination country.

Surface Air Lift (SAL) is a non-priority mail service and usually takes 6 to 8 weeks to arrive in the destination country.

2. Express Mail Service is offered to select countries and takes 3 – 5 business days to arrive in the destination country.

No matter what option you choose, you will be able to access online tracking and customer service assistance.

 

Guidelines for Shipping Parcels

Before you can ship your parcel overseas your items should be:

i) properly packaged in a box

ii) wrapped in brown paper

iii) tied with cord.

If you are using Express Mail Service to ship your parcel, please do not seal your box as it will need to be checked at the counter.

You’ll also need the following:

i) A valid Government issued ID Card (Voters’ ID or Drivers’ Licence or Passport)

ii) TRN

When collecting a parcel from the Post Office you will be required to:

i) provide a valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers License)

ii0 If applicable, pay the duty calculated by Jamaica Customs

If you are sending someone to collect your item on your behalf they will need to provide:

i) An authorization letter from you, signed by you

ii) a copy of your valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License)

iii) a valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License) of the person collecting on your behalf

 

Local

Registered Mail

A secure way to send your important letters and parcels. When you register your mail item you receive added security and *indemnity in the event of loss and it only takes 2 – 3 days for delivery.

Guidelines for sending Registered Mail locally

You will need to have:

i) A valid Government issued ID Card (Voters’ ID or Drivers’ Licence or Passport)

ii) TRN

When collecting Registered Mail which was sent locally you will need to have:

i) a valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License) of the person collecting on your behalf

If you are sending someone to collect your item on your behalf they will need to provide:

i) An authorization letter from you, signed by you

ii) a copy of your valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License)

iii) a valid Government issued ID (Passport, National Voters ID or Drivers’ License) of the person collecting on your behalf

Parcels

Send and receive parcels locally in 2- 3 days.

Guidelines for sending parcels locally:

Rent a letter box at very affordable prices at a Post Office that’s conveniently located for you and access your mail whenever you want. Private letter boxes can also be rented in residential communities and commercial centers and are available in clusters of 15, 20 and 35.
